Strong Interest in Transdisciplinary Education within the Erasmus+ TransInnovate Project
Within the Erasmus+ project TransInnovate, a quantitative survey involving 135 respondents from the fields of education, research, and policy-making was conducted. The aim of the survey was to identify needs and opportunities for developing transdisciplinary education at the intersection of Technology, Arts, and Humanities (TAH).
The results indicate a strong interest in developing transdisciplinary competences and integrating multiple disciplines and stakeholders in addressing complex societal challenges. Respondents particularly emphasised competences such as the ability to connect knowledge across fields, collaborate effectively, and understand complex systems.
These findings confirm that transdisciplinarity is becoming essential in tertiary education, as it enables students to develop competences closely aligned with labour market needs and societal demands.
The survey results will serve as a foundation for the development of new learning content and methodological approaches, which will be piloted in partner institutions in the next phases of the project.
