TransInnovate Workshop Explores Responsible Futures at Ars Electronica 2026
On 13 September 2026, TransInnovate project partner TAH – Centre for Innovations in Technology, Art and Humanities delivered the workshop Whose Future Are You Building? at Ars Electronica 2026 in Linz, Austria.
The workshop took place in the Gewölbesaal (Vaulted Hall) at Ursulinenhof and formed part of the festival’s programme exploring the relationship between humanity, technology and future development.
The session brought together artists, researchers, students, designers, educators, makers and cultural practitioners, inviting them to examine their own projects through a transdisciplinary lens. Participants worked on real ideas, prototypes, research questions and educational concepts rather than hypothetical case studies.
Using the AI-powered TAH Prism tool and a set of transdisciplinary perspective cards developed within the TransInnovate project, participants explored questions related to values, responsibility, inclusion and the future impact of their work. The workshop encouraged dialogue across technology, the arts, humanities and the social sciences, helping participants identify blind spots and reframe their projects from new perspectives.
The workshop demonstrated how the TransInnovate methodology can support responsible innovation and strengthen transdisciplinary thinking across educational, cultural and professional contexts. Participants left with a revised project statement, a practical next step for their work and a deeper understanding of how different disciplines can contribute to shaping more inclusive futures.
